Terms of Service

Last updated: August 8, 2026

These terms cover dog waste removal services provided by Bear Roots LLC, an Illinois limited liability company doing business as Quad City Doo, based in Rock Island, Illinois ("we," "us"). By signing up for service you agree to them.

1. What we do

We remove dog waste from the yard at the service address you give us, on the schedule you select, and haul it away. Unless you tell us otherwise, waste leaves with us rather than going in your bins.

We assign your service day based on the route for your neighborhood and will tell you what it is. We cannot guarantee a specific arrival time on that day. If your day needs to change, we'll let you know.

2. Getting into the yard

You agree to give us safe, unobstructed access on your service day. That means:

  • Gates unlocked, or a working gate code given to us
  • No aggressive dogs loose in the yard
  • Reasonable notice if access changes

If we can't get in, or it isn't safe to work, we'll contact you and the visit counts as completed for billing purposes. We'll always try to reach you first, and we'll make it right where we reasonably can.

3. Pets

Tell us honestly whether your dog may be outside during a visit and whether they're friendly with strangers. We reserve the right to skip a visit if a dog behaves aggressively toward our staff. You are responsible for your animals' behavior. We are careful with gates, but you agree to confirm your gate is secure if your dog's safety depends on it.

4. Weather

We work in most weather. Deep snow, ice and severe conditions are the exception — we may move your service day or skip a visit entirely, and we'll let you know when we do.

You are never charged for a visit we skip. On the weekly plan, a skipped week is not billed. On the every-2-weeks and monthly plans, a skipped visit is credited toward your next invoice. If waste is simply buried and can still be found later, we'll clear it on the next visit at no extra charge rather than skipping.

5. Pricing and billing

Current prices are published on our website. All plans are one pickup per week unless you select twice weekly.

How you payWhat happens
WeeklyRecurring charge each week covering that week's visit. Cancel any time.
Every 2 weeksRecurring charge covering two weekly visits.
MonthlyRecurring charge covering that month's weekly visits.
One-time cleanupYour card is authorized at booking and charged when we confirm the cleanup. No ongoing service.
Party PickupAdd-on for arrival at or close to a requested time: $50 on a weekday, $75 on a Saturday or Sunday. One-time charge.
Gift a CleanupPrepaid one-time cleanup bought for someone else. Card authorized at purchase and charged once we confirm the details.
Extra Pickup$20 for one additional visit in a given week, scheduled into the route. One-time charge.

Recurring plans renew automatically until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Nothing is charged on the day you sign up. Your card is saved, and billing begins only once we have confirmed you onto a service route — your first charge is made when your service starts, with each renewal following from that date. If we are unable to place you on a route, your card is never charged and there is nothing to cancel. Monthly plans cover the visits in that billing period whether the month has four or five service days — the price does not change.

Adding a dog changes your price going forward. Please tell us so we can bill correctly and plan enough time for the yard.

Pickup-area size affects price. Published prices cover a Standard pickup area of up to 1,000 square feet. A Large area (up to 3,000 sq ft) adds $15 and an Extra Large area (up to 5,000 sq ft) adds $30 to each charge. Areas over 5,000 square feet are priced individually before anything is charged. If the area we service is materially larger than what was selected at signup, we'll tell you and adjust the tier going forward.

Initial cleanup

Recurring service begins at the published plan price. If a property requires work outside the normal scope of recurring service, we will explain the situation before performing or charging for additional work.

Failed payments

If a payment fails we'll retry it and let you know. Service may pause until payment clears. Bank transfer (ACH) payments can fail several days after they appear successful; if that happens, the amount remains owed.

Gift purchases

A gift purchase is prepaid credit toward a one-time cleanup for the person you name. It does not expire, and we charge no fees against it. We contact the recipient to arrange a day. If their yard needs more than the amount purchased — more dogs than you selected, for example — they pay only the difference, and we tell them before any extra work. If we can't service their address, we refund the purchase in full to whoever bought it. Gifts are not redeemable for cash.

6. Pausing and cancelling

There is no contract and no cancellation fee. Cancel or pause any time by contacting us.

  • Pausing — tell us before your service day and we'll skip you. On the weekly plan a skipped week simply isn't charged; on other plans we'll pause or credit you as appropriate.
  • Cancelling a recurring plan — your plan stops at the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't prorate partial periods, but you keep the visits you paid for.

7. Refunds

If we miss something, tell us within 48 hours and we'll come back and re-clean at no charge. That's our first remedy and it fixes almost everything. If we genuinely failed to perform a visit you paid for and can't make it right, we'll refund that visit. Visits skipped for weather are handled under section 4 — those are credited, not charged.

8. Property and liability

We're careful with your property. If we damage something through our negligence, tell us promptly and we'll make it right.

We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, damage caused by your pets, items left in the yard that we couldn't reasonably see, or lawn damage from normal foot traffic. To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, our total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for service in the three months before the claim.

9. Service area

We serve the Quad Cities area listed on our website. Published pricing covers pickup areas up to 5,000 square feet (see section 5). If yours is bigger, finish the signup anyway — we'll look at it and send you a price to approve first. We'll never surprise you with a charge you didn't agree to.

10. Changes to these terms and to pricing

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. If we raise the price of an ongoing plan, we'll give current customers at least 30 days' notice by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel rather than accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Rock Island County, Illinois.
